Light cut-outs: Which type of glass is right for this?

When it comes to choosing the glass, there are just as many options as there are for the size, positioning and shape of the light cut-out. Our Pure White clear glass lets the most light through. It is ideal for making a room appear larger or for connecting two rooms. Clear glass, whether Pure White or Basic Green, should only be used in rooms where width is important and privacy is not an issue.

For rooms where privacy is desired but light is important, choose non-transparent glass. Frosted glass has a satin finish. It looks elegant and modern, lets light through, and is opaque. This type of glass is also very easy to clean. It is particularly suited to interior styles such as Scandinavian, hygge, industrial, Bauhaus and minimalist.

Structured glass is translucent too, but creates a completely different living atmosphere. Not all structured glass is opaque in the same way:

Silvit glass has a coarser structure, while Chinchilla glass has a finer one. With both types, you can only make out shadowy outlines on the other side. These types of glass are particularly popular for front doors and are also ideal for bathroom doors. Many customers with a classic interior style also choose these types of glass for their interior doors.

While Chinchilla and Silvit glass have irregular patterns, Mastercarré glass is dotted with small squares arranged in regular rows. This combination of austerity and modernity makes a Mastercarré light cut-out particularly well suited to offices, meeting rooms, modern minimalist homes, and the Wabi Sabi style. However, Mastercarré glass is not opaque and is therefore not suitable for bathrooms or medical practices.

Gothic glass imitates the handmade glass panes of the Middle Ages. It is also not opaque and only shows the other side of the room in a slightly blurred way. This glass is perfect for a rustic country house style, a modern country style, and also an ethno or boho style.
